Re: front motor mount

define"front motor mount is bad".usually a cast part with a stud and nut arrangement to adjust the engine alignment.3 bolts hold it in place.
888= sb ford?

Re: front motor mount

yes it's a ford 302, the mount is close to the transom . there are two of them. they are set in a shroud that houses the starter motor
My best guess is to take the shroud off and have the "bad" mount pressed down and out then pressed back in

Re: front motor mount

exactly. there are 2 parts that rest on the t plate each side where the mounts sit. make sure they are replaced.
edit: not sure but replacement mounts may come without the new washers and instructions on how to fit.

Well,...... Those would be the Rear Motor Mounts,..... Not the Front Motor Mounts............

And,........ Yes,.. They're Replaceable..... Press-fit into the Flywheel Cover.........

Re: front motor mount

Thanks Bondo yes your right.
I should have explained the problem better. They must be hard to remove without breaking the flywheel cover

Re: front motor mount

took the flywheel cover to my mechanic he replaced both using a press with a slightly smaller cylender. he said all it took was a lttle heat with a propane torch. I will be installing the engine today

Re: front motor mount

You better make sure which mounts you have. Merc has new mounts out that eliminates the double wound lock washer.
