Installed some new aluminum headers on my 502. The header manifold is slightly wider then the original cast iron and caused an interference with the power steering (PS) pump. Found an extension bracket from IMCO which extended the PS pump up and out about an inch to clear. The front brace bracket (Mercruiser 98644A-1) is now about an inch or so to short. It is a flat bar which I could weld an extension on it but would like to find one which was longer. The manufacture of the PS?Alternator bracket doen't make the other brace. My guess is most folks don't put it brace back on but I'm worried about a stress brake later. Have any ideas?

That's what I did (called IMCO) and they said they didn't make one, so that got me scratching my head real good.

Will get some pics if someone doesn't come up with something. Plan to check my Rinker and see if the brace on it may be longer then the 502, but have to wait a couple of days to get to it.
