I got a nice 86' Johnson 6 hp with a tilt adjustment pin I reciently that is rusted solid into the second tilt position/ set of holes through the mount on both sides) with PB Blaster , tapping it with a hammer and trying to twist it with vice grips. I'm afraid to tap it to hard / apply heat and risk cracking the cast aluminum bracket. Should I keep soaking and working at it or just cut it out from the centerin the mount. I've been soaking it ( where it goes and replace it in another hole/position? Need to get the pin into the first position.

Well, it didn't rust in there overnight, it won't free up overnight either. At the risk of breaking the mount, I'd continue soaking and twisting. Soak it for a few days and let the PB do it's thing. As a last resort, cut the pin in the middle and work on each half, then replace the pin. Patience goes a long way on this one. <br />Good luck and post back on how it goes.
