Hey guys,

I'm still kindda new to this boating this but one question I have is about getting a transome saver for my FS 175. I have been using the support arm on the motor but a buddy of mine stated that wasn't a good idea. I have seen several different ones on the market and was hoping some of you could help be out?

Also, I'd love to see a picture of how you did yours.

Thanks for the advice

Re: FS175 Transome Saver

Hey Boat Guy,

I purchased a 2010 Lowe Stinger 175 a little over a month ago and luckily the dealer threw in the transom saver for free...I had forgotten to ask about one when purchasing but asked when I picked the boat up and he said even though we hadn't talked about it, he would never let a customer leave his dealership (Cabela's) without one...I'm not an expert, but the dealer recommended the use of one...the one they gave me is a one piece, silver curved bar of metal with a thick "v" rubber insert where it meets the lower unit of my outboard...there is a notch cut into the lower part where it meets the trailer so you just have to turn it slightly into the transom saver hole on my trailer...the trailer that came with the boat is a 2011 Karavan...just insert the bar into the trailer and use the power tilt to lower the unit into the rubber "v"...then secure it with a bungee cord...simple as that...here is the link to the exact one Cabela's gave me...

Hope this helps...
