Fuel addatives

The mechanic who just rebuilt my 96 Evinrude 115, says that i should use OMC 2+4, and Stabil. I would like if it is really necessay to use both.

bassin,<br /><br />As far as I'm concerned, they both do the same thing. They are both fuel stabilizers.<br /><br />However, I think I would follow his advice, to the tee, especially if he is warranting the engine.<br /><br />I would go so far as to keep the receipts for the stuff you buy.

Ditto with djohns19 but if you trust your mechanic to rebuild your motor, I would ask him what his reasoning is for the two fuel addatives? it would be intresting to hear his response.
