I have dual 260 8 cyl volvo engines with rochester 4bbl carbs on it.

What would the default fuel mixture setting be?? I back out the screws 1 & 3\4 turns. Would that be too lean or too rich??

Thanking you in advance, Larry...

Re: fuel - air mixture setting?

You need a RPM gauge or vacuum gauge to set it, unless you have a good ear. Adjust the idle mixture screws alternating back and forth between them until you get the maximum RPM or maximum vacuum. Keep reducing the idle screw to obtain lowest smooth RPM (about 700RPM) I like to lean it out a little by turning the idle mixture screws in 1/4 turn each when I have it set.
