fuel and tilt problem..ervinrude 20 hp 1975

hi ive got a fuel problem<br />she wont run more than half throtal...unless choke is on[then she flys and will run 4 ages like this but obviously it aint right]!<br />ive striped the carb and can find nothing wrong [im used to bikes so i know a bit]<br />i presume the fuel is getting to the carb ok from what i said...any ideas? <br />there is a screw on the top of carb<br />for lean/rich ajustment...how do i set it up and when do i use this ajustment[yes i am new to boats]<br />also the tilt of the motor can be ajusted...there are 4 holes and a pin...what efects do these ajusments make <br />thx alot guys

Niander,<br /><br />Did you replace the carb. needle/seat? How is the float?<br /><br />You can set each needle about:<br /><br />high speed-2 turns to start out, adjust from there.<br /><br />low speed-1-1/2 turns out, adjust from there.<br /><br />The trim positions you refer to do the following.: The outermost hole will tend have the engine lift the bow. The innermost will tend to have the engine push the bow down.

there is just 1 carb<br />im used to bikes the main jet seems realy big to me ? <br />the float rests level when turned upside down<br />and it shuts off the fuel when i blow down fuel intake...seems there s not enough petrol...hence with choke it runs high speed...main jet not blocked...ideas ?<br />float not leaking...

seen this a lot..what does WOT stand 4?<br />about the tilt...is any position faster than another?<br />but ive got to sort the carb problem

Niander,<br /><br />WOT=wide open throttle.<br /><br />Typically the higher (outer holes) lift the bow and allow for more speed.
