I am trying to determine how much fuel the tank in my new boat holds. I know I have seen the formula on this site before, but can't find it. I know the first step is to determine the cubic inches of the tank then divide it by ?

Can anyone tell me the magic number. Thanks

Re: Fuel capacity

Fuel volume equals 7.48 gallons per cubic foot. A 2'x 3' x 2' high tank (12'cu) would hold 89.76 gallons. To use cubic inches, multiply the total cubic inches by .004329. The cubic inch formula for this tank would be 20,736 x .004329.
