Fuel Consumption?

I have a 18ft 1977 glastron with a johnson 140hp. What should the fuel consumption be for playing hard, pulling a tube for 1 hour with boat fully loaded at 1200 lbs?

Fuel consumption can very ALOT from boat to boat. But, if it helps I have a 1978 Glastron with a 150 Evinrude and "playing hard" I will burn 5gal in about 2 1/2 hours.

i had an 84 v-4 90 hp full down 6 gallons 1 hour 30 minuites to 2 hours depending if i some one falls off the tube or not and how often they fall off.

I am burning about 5 gal an hour which seems like to much to me.

That is well within the range of a 140 HP two stroke. It'll burn at least twice that at WOT.

A 140 may burn up to 14 GPH at WOT.

Could even be a bit more, that 1/10 correlation is just a very rough estimation. But yes, 5 gallons of fuel in an hour of pulling tubes, skiers, etc. with a 140 sounds reasonable.

ok thanks for the input folks, we were at WOT most of the time. So i guess that is the ball park.
