Fuel filter not staying full

Hello,

I have a 95 Force 120 hp and when I prime it I can watch the fuel filter fill up. Once bulb is tight, it slowly back flows back towards the tank. I replaced filter, replaced bulb, and still happens. I'm having starting issues and can manually give the motor throttle to get it running and have the motor pull fuel through. The filter now stays half full, but anything more leaks out.

I'm in the middle of idle adjustments and carb sync, so getting the proper fuel/air is a hassle. Main question is should I divert to looking forward (past filter to fuel pump, and so on).

The primer bulb has a one way valve in it.

Either the primer bulb is in backwards and or you have a leak in the fuel system

First thing I'd do is rebuild the pump.
At the tank, look at the hose barb and see if it's an silver anti siphon valve or just a brass hose barb??
ASV the ball inside might be stuck open??
The prime system has a diaphragm, it can go bad allowing air back through the system, pinch
off the hoses after initial start/prime.
If the gas doesn't feed back then the primer is faulty.

Fuel pump pressure test.

Even new squeezie can be bad :(

Thanks for the replies..

Bulb is the right way, and I didn't find any leaks from tank to filter.

weird thing, I went this morning to start working on it again and from the tank being outside it was imploded and the filter was slap full. Opened the tank vent and it stayed full. If it goes back down, I'll do as Jerry suggested.

I went to start the motor (since the filter was staying full) and bottom carb spit. Sometime yesterday I guess I blew the reed plate gasket, so now replacing that and trying again.

That's a gasket that doesn't usually go bad?? How??

It would have helped telling us it was a portable tank??

You shouldn't have a ASV and the fuel can easily backflow into the tank.

Yeah guess I should have mentioned lol. I'm using my Jon boat tank and fuel line. Seems the 2 primer bulbs I have are bad because I can pinch the hose between tank and primer bulb, and it stops leaking.

as for gasket, there is one behind the Reed plate that goes between reeds and also intake. The center was blown, so wasn't stopping the pressure from blowing backwards (just as if the reeds were open)
