:confused:Tell me if i am correct....I was examining my engine the other day and noticed something that looked like a fuel filter. It was about 3"long and had mabey a 2" diameter. it was connected to my fuel line w/ tie raps and it is plastic. Anyways can anybody show me a picture of the stock fuel filters that come on the force engines???? BC i am wondering if the fule filter i have on my engine is the stock one?? If so, I want to replace it!! Also, I am thinking that could solve my issue with the hesitation i am getting when i go to WOT. Bc if that is the stock fuel filter than IT IS PROBABLY TIME FOR A CHANGE! Also, what type of fuel filter do I get, OR does it even matter as long as it is a fuel filter???

Re: Fuel Filter question!!!

Is this filter located on the fuel line between the gas tank and where the line plugs into the engine? If so, go to Wal-mart and buy a new one or a replacement element for the filter if it has a glass tube. There will be an arrow on the filter to show the direction of the fuel. I do not believe there is an internal filter on the motor itself.

Re: Fuel Filter question!!!

There is two of them. One is about a foot away from the pump bulb, and the second is right before the line goes into the engine......Can i just replace them with another type of filter????? And does it matter what type it is????

Re: Fuel Filter question!!!

Any inline fuel filter will do.
I try to avoid the glass ones, as I don't want to get stranded if it should break.

Best bet is to take the old filter off and measure it.

Re: Fuel Filter question!!!

All you need is one fuel filter. Replace the one closer to the bulb and remove the one at the engine. You will have to reconnect the the fuel fitting to hose once you remove the second filter. Gas line for a remote tank are all the same size so the filter will fit. Remember to look at the arrow on the filter when installing. If you do decide to replace the fuel line make sure you have the right fuel fitting on both the tank end and the engine end. My 40 HP Force uses a Yamaha fitting at the engine but since I have tanks from an older boat I have OMC (evinrude) fittings on the tank side.
