looking for one for my 140 johnson 2 stroke. Was looking at the racor's, but then saw that moeller has one also that it cheaper. Don't even know it this can be done, but I would love to be able to run my 9.9 2 stroke off the same filter if possible but with a different tank with different fuel lines. can that be done?

Any input on the right filter brand, type of filter or setup would be great.

thanks

Re: fuel filter/water separater recomendations

The Walmart/Attwood Fuel/Water Separator($27) works great for normal/average outboard applications. Of course Racor sorta wrote the book on fuel filters and sells a complete line for all types of applications, but their prices go right on up. Good Luck!

A water-separating fuel filter (or spin-on fuel filter) can help screen out water and other contaminants, ensuring that your engine gets the pure fuel it needs. But not all fuel filters are equal. Just as costs vary (from $7 to $22), so does quality. What do you get for your money? To find which brands offer the best elements, largest filtering areas and greatest contaminate capacities; we tested a wide range of filters for gasoline engines. Here is what we found.
