Fuel filter

Hello I have a 1987 15hp evinride 2 stroke ouboard motor. I recently booght a new johnson omc fuel tank kit with primer bulb and hose and would like to install an inline fuel filter, would the filter be better between tank and primer or between primer and motor. Thanks for reading.

There should be a filter screen in the fuel pump on the motor.------I would say it has been adequate all these years.

In addition to any screen or pleated style fuel filter that may be under the motor's cowling (and if there isn't one, I'd add one), I'd also install an inline water separating filter between the tank and the primer bulb.

There's also a strainer screen at fuel pick-up in tank..
