Fuel Filters..How many?

My service manual says there is a filter right before the inlet to the carb, Is this a simple swap?
Whats are the part numbers for this filter?
It's a '92 mecruiser 3.0L.
I have the canister for the fuels/water seperator to replace already.

Its part of the carb just past were the fuel line connects #4 you do need at least 2 of the correct size wrenchs

And there is a nother in the base of the fuel pump #2

the fuel pump one can be hard to change depending on how the engine is installed

I cant say the exact part # but they use the same ones on a LOT of carbs and fuel pumps
(they give you the different gaskets so you have to match up what came out of the fuel pump)

Quick and easily replaced.Make sure you use the right type of wrenches to loosen it.Charlie

both of you guys mention "the right wrenches"....Open end and an adjestable?
Or should they both be open end?

What's you take on these filters? Should they both be done even if I am not having problems? I was thinking that I would run the storage tank out and refill with fresh fuel and change the filters...thoughts from the gurus are always appreciated
You guys make me feel like a mechanic even though I am not!!!

They cost a few dollars and if you dont know when they were changed

Then its time to change then

I can assure you the one in the carb will ruin your day when you try and change it on water

just use the right size open ends and be ready for a littel bit of leaking fuel

IT GOES A LONG WAY
