Fuel flow irregular

I removed the fuel line today and cranked the engine over, and the fuel came out in spurts. it wasn't a steady flow. I believe that it should be a steady flow even while just cranking the engine over. Also I want to do a pressure check and my manual says to ground the plug wires to the engine to prevent C/D failure. What is the best procedure for doing this. Just use something like an alligator clip up into the wire and clip it anywhere on the engine? P.S. the engine is a force L-drive 3 cylinder engine, and also I did check the sediment screen in fuel pump and it was fine.

Re: Fuel flow irregular

It is normal for the fuel to pulse.Should be strong rythmic pulses.
On the grounding just be sure you clip securely to the plug connector and a clean bare metal ground.
