Fuel flow sensoron Yamaha F75

Hi All I am installing a Northstar F210 flow sensor on my boat and was just wondering since I have to install a inline fuel filter before the sensor will that in any way effect engine performance .There is allready a water seperator installed between the tank and the motor and a fuel filter as well as a water seperator inside the motor cowling.The motor is a 2009 Yamaha F75 and boat is an Alumacraft 165cs.
