Fuel Gauge repair and manufacturer

I have a 1983 Renken and the only sign of a company name or trade mark on the dash instruments is a "T". Anyone know what company this is and what the ohm range the fuel gauge operates? The fuel gauge is non operative but when I replaced it with a teleflex it still does work.

Thanks, Skinny

You answered your own question. You have Teleflex gauges- very common.

The brand of gauge is not all that important, the operating resistance range is VERY important. The gauge impedance needs to match the sender unit.

In the U.S of A, the most common range is 240 ohm (full) to 33 ohm (empty). The rest of the world use 10 ohm (full) to 180 ohm (empty). The 2 different ranges are not interchangeable.

If you have a multi-meter, you can test the range of the sender unit and at the same time make sure it is operating correctly.
