I have a quicksilver fuel gauge in my boat and it has died, does anyone know if I use an OMC gauge if the calibrations are the same for the sender unit which I assume is a quicksilver. the tank is under the floor and cannot be seen or easily removed.

Re: fuel gauge

It should work. One way to check,is to pull the sending unit, hook up a meter, and check the ohm's as you raise and lower the float arm. That could be your problem in the first place.

Re: fuel gauge

problem is definately with the gauge, I have two tanks and swapped the gauges, the only reason I wanted to know was because I have OMC engines and so, OMC gauges and if they were the same calibration I would get two fuel gauges and then they would match the rest of the instruments, I can easily get a new quicksilver gauge but just kinda thought matching would be nice.
