Re: fuel guage not accurate

Most tanks have an adjustable guage. On mine, you unscrew the guage from the tank and bend the rod going to the float.

Accurate fuel guage on a boat! never seen one. Graffig is supposed to make a guage that does away with the float, and uses a coluam of air. You may want to check with them.

Fuel gauges read what the sender tells them to read. Senders are designed to read tanks that are square, if the tank is odd shaped all bets are off.

Boatin is correct, the float arm can be bent to try to get your sender to read correctly at 1/2, but then you run the chance of throwing the gauge off at F, or worse E.

How does it read at E and F now?

25regal - Open the access hatch (usually a round 6" or so circle) above the sending unit on the tank. There should be a data plate nearby from the manufacturer of the tank giving the model #, capacity & manufacturer. Contact them & order the sending unit for your tank. It should be calibrated for your exact tank no matter what the shape.

I did that last year for my 23'CC & it seems to be fairly accurate now.
