fuel guage problem

I have a 1999 16' Larson with a 16 gallon tank.<br />The in-dash fuel guage quit working. What is the <br />most likely problem and where should I look first?<br />Thanks

First you want to see if the guage works, it should have a hot 12v terminal (when key is on) and it should have a sender terminal (wire from the tank), take the wire from the sender off and use a jumper wire to ground, with key on guage should read full, if it does then the guage is ok and you have a sender or broken wire prob. Assuming you can get to the sender, check connections then with an ohm meter you can check it to see if it's open or not.
