I've had this motor for a few years and it has always run fine. This year it started running poorly- especially at idle. To make a long story short, I ended up rebuilding the carbs. Before testing I checked the oil and found it diluted with gas. So, I drained it and changed it, launched the boat and fired her up. The engine ran beautifully at all speeds and so I came back into the harbor and it started running rough again. I fiddled with it for a few minuts and then decided to look at the oil. It was so full of gas that it spouted out when I removed the dip stick! Could a stuck or mis-adjusted float put that much gas in there in such a short time? I didn't run it for more than 5 -10 minuts!

Alarmed and confused
