Fuel Indictor

My fuel gauge shows, 3/4 tank, when full, but after run my boat for 2 or 3 days, it still shows 3/4 tank. When I fill it up, it take 25 gallons or so. I can't figure out why the gauge doesn't work right. Is there anything I can check to correct this?

Hi kh, welcome to iboats!!<br /><br />Couple of questions first - Does it go to zero when the ignition is off?<br /><br />Does the needle sway when the boat moves up and down & side to side?<br /><br />Aldo

Sorry, wrong reply.<br /><br />No, the needle does not move at all. It did at one time, it would fall to 1/2. But it doesn't fall at all when the key or power is off.

Sounds like you have a faulty gauge. To test it, ground out the sender wire at the fuel tank - the gauge should peg out to 'full'. If it doesn't, replace the gauge.
