Fuel leak on carb.

After looking around my engine after fitting new exhaust ect noticed a drop off fuel dropping from large nut on the carb where the main fuel line connection is. I have undone the nut very fine thread and must be the washer that is shot. I think I have ordered some from the USA hope they are right ones. What else could I use to seal this joint. Viber washer maybe ? Thanks from uk. 1988 mercruiser 4.3 v6

See if you can find Form A Gasket No 3 (also can be called aviation sealant), its for use with gasoline. There are others if you search for "gasoline thread sealant"
