Re: fuel leak

Is it the old style cork float?
Did you set it even with the carb body with the carb inverted?

Re: fuel leak

There could be a small piece of trash in the needle/seat holding it slightly open and allowing gas to pass by.

Re: fuel leak

ok Daviet I might have found my problem tell if im wrong I have been just setting the float to level but the instructions in the link you gave me are saying the bottom of the float should be at the level of the gasket, not down in the bowl and level, is this correct

Re: fuel leak

Look here, post #2, it is not your carb but it shows the float float and carb bowel.
Basicly you turn the carb body upside down and the top of the float, part of float facing the carb body, should be parallel(?) to the carb gasket surface.

Re: fuel leak

Ok, cross your fingers I may have my carb problems solved, I had to take 2 and make 1, the first carb I rebuilt leaked around the high speed needle Im guessing the needle was worn it had alot of play between it and the packing nut, the second carb I rebuilt leaked fuel out of the butterfly when you choke it, so I tried putting the high and low speed needles out of the second carb into the first carb and so far no leaks ( knock on wood ) LOL. Confused yet?

Re: fuel leak

oops leak not fixed, it leaks out of the butterfly when choked, the float is set right and the needle and seat are new, and I made sure float does not have a whole in it, any other suggestions
