fuel leak.

mornin guys. well i got engine put back together(thanks to you) and did all the adjustments by the book and now she fires right up. i haven't done a compression check on it yet, i will do that today. the problem i have is fuel leaking out of the plunger on top of the carb. 4 barrel roch. can i solve this with having it rebuilt or replacing carb? thanks again.

Rebuild or replacing the carb will fix the issue. You could start with re-setting the float level. The float is allowing to much fuel in the fuel bowl which could also be caused by crud on the needle seat, or worn seat or needle.

thanks all dodge. i tried on the old engine rebuilding its 2 barrel roch and it didnt work so i took it to the ONLY carb shop left in town and he made it brand new.it sounds like i would have to separatethe carb to get to those parts so NEW CARB.what carb would you suggest? mercruiser 350 260hp with alpa one pushing a 25ft 5000# chriscraft scorpion 254

4 barrel. i just was saying that the old engine had a 2 barrel on it and i tried to rebuild it and it didn't work so i wouldn't attempt to rebuild the 4 barrel.

In most cases, rebuilding the carb will correct your problems. It certainly will be much cheaper than buying a new one. Remove the carb and bring it into your carb shop. If you don't like their work, you can find a carb rebuilder online. Any shop which rebuilds auto carbs can rebuild your Rochester; it really isn't that complicated if you are careful with how you take it apart. Hy
