I've got fuel leaking from the bottom carb of my 235 Evinrude. Even when the engine is off and I pump the bulb or when I turn the key and the fuel pump comes on it pours out the bottom carb. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks Tashasdaddy,
Do you think that will fix it's running problems? It was running good for about an hour into the waves and wind, but when we turned down wind it slowed to about half power. I got it into a bay where I could get it to go full out for 20 sec. and then it would die down again. Now today it seams like it won't even go.

The float might just be stuck. This happened with my Johnson 130. It comes out of the overflow hole, fills up your cowling with gas... Not a good thing.

I freed mine up with a little cleaning and a touch of 2-stroke lube. No leaky.

And yes, this would cause whatever hole or holes this carb is feeding to flood out big time, meaning that only the cylinders fed from another carb would be running right. This could definitely cause it to run poorly.

As an aside, i struggled to figure out how to pull the float bowl for about 20 minutes before I realized it won't come of without pulling the carb. It is really quite easy to pull the whole thing off, takes less than 5 minutes. This is on my motor, though, never worked on a big 'rude...

Thanks Guys,
This is my first boat, so I called the mechanic. I'll let you know how it works.
THinks are a little primative here in the Bahamas, so it could take time to get parts.
