Re: fuel leaking out of lower end

What horse power is the chrysler? You should start by rebuilding the fuel pump and then maybe a primer bulb if the diaphram in the fuel pump kit dosent fix the problem. That should take care of the primer bulb not getting hard. Next a decarb should help the fuel spill however it wont get rid of it entirely. Chrysler did not start reburning unburnt gas until the 1970s. Yours is probably draining out the kingpin into the motor leg.

If your fuel bulb won't get firm when you pump it, then there is either a stuck float keeping the inlet needle open, or a bad inlet needle seat leaking. Disassemble the carb(s) and clean or rebuild it/them. A leaking inlet needle with too high a fuel level will cause engine to run way rich with no power. A leaking fuel pump diaphragm will cause similar problems. It is cheap, so replace it on general principals. In each case, a lot of fuel will drain out into the leg. Check your spark plugs. If they look really wet, black, and oily, that is a strong clue.
