I have a 1987 OMC 3.0, Model # 302AMFTC, Serial # L0971859. I have stripped the fitting on the end of the fuel line that goes into the carb. I have ordered a new fitting end and will cut off the end, re-flange and see if it will still fit.

Has anyone else had to replace part# 985033?
What have you done to replace the fuel line?
Thanks

Go to napa or other parts store and get 3/8 brake line with 5/8 inverted flare fittings

Hi Scott,

Thanks for the quick response....

I went to my local OMC specialist shop and he sold me Sierra 18-8114 31" with 5/8 ends. Well it is plenty long. BUT the fitting that goes into my carb and the one that goes into my fuel are not 5/8, :O(. I did mention this to the shop I was buying the part from and he guaranteed me a fit. Measuring the fittings on the flared ends at the FP and Carb they measure .492" ( that would be the outside diameter of the threads). The stainless fuel tube measures .311" (outside diam.).
Does anyone out there have the answer?
this cadet is sorry my Supreme Mariner :O)

UPDATE:
Ordered 5/16 SS tubing straight 33" with Tube Nut 1/2-20 (1/2" fitting) from inlinetube.com on Monday and got the tubes on Saturday AM. Bought a tube bender from HD for $14. Carefully replicated bends of original and reconnected. Everything hooked up well just need to do a splash/functional test.
