You can get the fuel line from any marine supply place, or even WalMart. You want standard OMC fittings. It's easier just to buy the whole set, with the fittings already installed.

I'm not quite sure what you mean about the manual starter. Does the rope only pull out a little ways, then stop completely? If that's the case, you're going to have to find out why.

It could be in the recoil starter assembly, or one cylinder may not be able to move properly.

You're obviously just getting started on this outboard business, so there's a lot to learn.

You can turn the motor into an electric start model, but I'd advise making sure it's a runner before spending any more money on it.

As always, on this or any other forum, the more information you offer, the better the help will be. The recoil start problem is a good example. Saying it's "a little tight" just doesn't provide enough information. Manual starting a 15 hp motor is always a little harder pull than starting a lawnmower. If the rope will pull out it's full length, then the engine is not locked up.

Let us know the details, and I'll bet we can get you up and running.

fuel line prob, evinrude 1967'15hp

hello does anyone know where i can get a service manual for my outboard,i picked it up today needs a fuel line and primer the fuel line fits into what i can only describe as a phono jack plug with a fuel needle next to it, also noticed the pull start was a little tight, compression seemed good but i'm wondering once i get the fuel in, will half a turn on the flywheel start it? it's to power my tender and was also wondering about electric start kits, does anyone have any experience on these motors, kind regards shaun

Oh, yeah, the manual. You can get the Seloc manual right here, by clicking "Manuals" at the top of the page. It covers a number of engines, but is pretty easy to follow. It's a good idea.

A word of warning, the Seloc manual does NOT cover your engine, and I don't think Clymers does either. Those 15hp Worktwins are fairly unusual and almost unheard of down in the 'States where these manuals come from. I strongly suggest you get the original factory manual from kencook.com, theoutboardwizard, marineengine or maxrules.
I don't think electric start was ever offered for that engine. You might be able to rig up something from a wrecked 18hp, but it would likely require some serious tinkering. It should start easily enough once it's all tuned up and it's a lot easier pulling the starter when it's mounted on a boat.
Hope this helps!
