Hi. I own a 50 hp Mercury (1984 4-cylinder). The fuel line that connects directly to my outboard motor is stuck and won't disconnect from the motor. The fuel line is the kind you push in and twist clockwise to connect and push in and twist counter clockwise to disconnect. While winterizing my boat today, I couldn't disconnect the fuel line. It would twist counterclockwise but wouldn't release... or pop out. I've had no fuel-related problems this year so I know it was connected properly to begin with. I'm also located in Wisconsin, so we've had some chilly fall days already. I'm just wondering if the cold weather has gummed up my fuel line connection so it won't pop out. I'm afraid to pull it out with too much force in fear I'll break something. Would spraying WD-40 around the connection help? Any ideas or thoughts. Sorry for posting in this section, but like I said, it's connected to a Mercury outboard. I thought maybe that might have some bearing on the problem. Any suggestions would be welcomed. Thanks.
