I have a 1972 Bertram with twin 165's. Can anyone tell me the tubing size used for the hard fuel lines from the fuel pump to the carburetor? The rubber lines on mine are shot and I have the tools to make up some hard likes similar to the factory original ones but I don't know what size line to use. The carburetor and fuel pump both have 1/8 pipe thread so I'm assuming that 1/4 od tube would be sufficient but the rest of the fuel system used 5/16 tubing.

Ayuh,....... That'll probably work, but the industry standard now a days is 3/8" from the tank to the carb,.....

Well. I guess Ill do 5/16 then. Will eventually replace the tank with twins. no point in redoing all those lines at this point.

After further review. If I do 3/8 I won't have to do it again later. Looks like the ID of 3/8 is about 5/16. Does that mean I should use 5/16 for the rubber hose portion?

Where are you running the rubber hose portion? Stick with the 3/8" hose. Get the proper barbed hose fittings. Use type A1 marine hose and you will be good.

Twin I6's in a Bertram. You are going to be the envy of those who know and appreciate classic things. The whole experience... I'll envy you. When you are done!
