Hi Everyone,I just picked up a 1958 25hp Gale-buccaneer outboard and was wondering what the correct fuel/oil ratio I should be running in it? Any thoughts? Also are these good motors? I've been told they are.... Thanks for your help!!!

To be safe...24:1 ratio...but OMC used better bearings in the late 50's that allowed for a 50:1 mix. Unfortunately, I do not know if this applies to your motor.

24:1 is the correct mix for that engine, Lucas.

Even at 24:1, those 25hp motors had a problem with beating the wrist pin bushings to death. You certainly don't want to be tempted to mix it leaner.

Otherwise, they are great motors, even if they are noisy.
