fuel mixture for old Johnson

What is the proper fuel /oil ratio for a 52 Johnson 10hp,model QD-13. The instructions on the engine cover say 1 quart oil for 5 gallons of gas. Is this proper with todays O/B oil?

I think they are supposed to be 24:1 ratio..<br /><br />but with todays oil, many people run 32:1 or even 40:1..<br /><br />any of the above will most likely serve you well, I ran 32:1 for along time with my old Evinrude with no issues.<br /><br />regards<br /><br />Frank
