Fuel/Oil Residue Throughout Front of Engine.

As an update to this thread http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=222131 I went 'poking' around the engine a little while ago. I found a lot of fuel/oil mix saturated in the tape holding the hoses together outside the front of the engine cover. I pulled the tape apart, and found a gummy fuel/oil saturated mix. Also, the fuel/oil mix has a lot of residue around the front / boat side of the mid section engine cowling.

After poking around a little more with a flashlight I found that the pulse limiter hose and fitting show signs of the same residue of the fuel/oil mix.

There is no fuel or oil present outside the hoses leading up to the VRO, other than on the tape outside the cover, or from the VRO until I get to the bottom of the pulse limiter hose and fitting. There it seems to be abundant even though there are no puddles, but there is a greasy residue present. I suspect the fuel/oil mix on the tape was from when I tilted the engine after use, and the mix drained out the fitting that holds these hoses to the engine cover.

Any suggestions?

Could this be causing my problem with the 'No Oil' warning at high RPMs?

It is normal for some of the fuel/oil mixture to run out of the carbs when you tilt up the engine after use. If you don't clean it every now and then it will make the oily build up you are talking about.
