My 87 bayliner with a 3 liter motor and a omc outdrive stopped running today got it home and no gas to fuel pump.so i took of the hose the an shot air in it and it was clear.then i took the fuel pick up tube out of the tank and noticed where the gas hose connects to the barbed fitting there was a ball bearing.so i took the barbed fitting off well its a oneway check valve.so i blew in one end no air came out then blew in the other end no air again.the check valve is bad......so do i need to buy another check valve or can i install a regular barbed brass fitting? does it need the check valve?
