Hi,

I've got a 1968 Evinrude 55hp that won't turn over. She used to turn over, but then I had a tear in the fuel line and after I spliced a new on onto the old, it doesn't seem to be delivering the gas to the carb. Now, where this is getting tricky is that the bad fuel line wasn't any of the obivous fuel lines, it is a very small one that originates from somewhere under the engine and attaches to the carbuerators. I can't find where this line begins, so I can't take it off and check for a blockage. the whole thing is a mystery. Anyone have any ideas?

Also, I'm trying to get my lower unit out of forward gear (it's electric shift and I've read all the posts,) but one thing I don't understand is the Dextron III business. What is it and does it work better than mineral spirits. I really think my problem is a goopy lower unit. The oil I drained out looked think, black and old.

Thanks
