Check and make sure your tank vent is open or not otherwise blocked.

fishintexas,

Sounds to me like you fuel pump is working well! You gas tank vent is either closed or plugged and your fuel pump is collapsing your primer bulb as it sucks that last bit of fuel from the gas line.

Start with the tank vent!

Lee

Also... I had a similar problem with the bulb collasping. It wasn't my vent nor my fuel pump. It ended up being that a needed to replace my old fuel line, it was probably clogged or something. But i haven't had a problem since.

Mine is only a year old and has developed same problem. Vents, filter and lines checked still occurs occasionally. Its not the only one if that makes you feel any better..

How exactly do you clear out the vents?

Where do you blow air into the hoses?

I have a permanent tank in my boat so i just took the hose loose from tank and blew air through to make sure it was coming out the vent hole. Turns out there was no obstruction there.

Could be the pick-up on the line inside the tank, If it has a filter of sorts on it it could be patially blocked. The only way you bulb can collaps is if it cant get the needed fuel for whatever reason.
