I have a 1977, 20 Horsepower mercury outboard. The problem is that in order to keep the motor running, while in gear, you have to continuously pump the fuel ball on the fuel line. Now I just replaced the fuel line, so I don't believe that the problem is here. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what could be causing this problem.

Re: Fuel problems

sounds like the fuel pump diaphram has a hole in it, check to see your fuel pump is pumping.
