fuel problems

i have a 90hp merc i can clean the carbs then run it and it starts to miss again would the fuel pump have anything to do with it

A fuel pump is normal a surging miss that can be overcome by pumping the bulb and if the diaphragm ruptures there is usually fuel on the water. Why do you think thats it a fuel miss. in most cases a miss that is intermittent is a ign problem.

Heehaw, give us a little more info.
Does it miss or run rough? Typically a fuel issue will not cause a miss.
Does it occur idling, accelerating, just going along at a faster constant speed, hot, cold, etc.?
Any work been done recently?
