I have a '94 60HP Johnson that has had the VRO disabled and capped. I want to replace the fuel pump but all I can find is the VRO model that pumps oil as well and they want $428 for it. Is there a less expensive option that pumps premixed fuel only? If so, how do I know which is the correct part?

If the fuel side is good keep using it. If it failed get the pump off of a pre -84 3 cylinder motor. You can also use the pump off of a 65 hp comercial model. Make sure you disable or remove the pulse limiter if you change to the old style pump

Good stuff, thank you I will do that. Can you explain a pulse limiter and how to disable it?

Make sure you get the 3 port pump the 2 port for the 2 cyl wont work. Follow the VRO pulse line to the block there will be a nipple with a disc. Unscrew that from the block and either drill through it or replace it with a straight nipple. Drilling it out works fine just make sure you remove all the shavings if any are left in there.

If the current pump works, you know it will pump premix, right? Can't tell from your post if the pump has failed, or you want to replace it for other reasons. (Thinking the motor is new to you.)

Thanks for the help guys. I've had the outboard for about a year and the VRO pump has been pumping premix but I believe it's starting to go bad so i'm looking at changing it out, but a rebuild might not be a bad idea either. Thanks again.

What is the motor doing that leads you to believe the pump is the issue.

Several causes for that beside fuel pump....and easier fixes.
Try a known good tank and fuel hose first.

Test fuel pump with a gauge....then you know for sure.
You can just throw a new pump or kit at it or $50- or so if you want.
I'd rather spend the $$ on beer.....but that is just me. :)
