fuel pump: marine or automotive?

Hey guys...can I use an automotive fuel pump on a 77 OMC 235 I/O (351W)or is there a specific marine application?<br />Thanks

An auto fuel pump will fit, however it should not be used on a boat... Marine fuel pump has specific saftey features that an automotive fuel pump does not have...

Indeed, a dual diaphram is used in marine pumps. Don't take the chance
