Should there be a spacer in addition to the gasket between pump housing and engine block
The reason for asking is I replaced the pump new and shortly after the new pump diaphragm ruptured. I noticed the lever on the pump which contacts the cam lobe to actuate the pump has the wear mark about just before the arm bend. Is the spacer required behind the pump mounting to create a shorter pump stroke at the diaphragm?
