Thanks people. Ill be on it the next nice day. Or at least ok day. My brother and i froze our butts of Saturday doing other work on the boat. We were planning on taking it out today but 40 degree weather with high wind killed that plan.

Back in the day I spent a lot of time involved with motocross. One thing we would do to test for air leaks would be to pull of the carb and exhaust then plug the exhaust. Then replace the carb with a rubber plug with a nipple that would allow us to use someting like a mity vac to add about 5 psi to the engine and see if it holds. Do you think this would work on a outboard? The only problem I see would be trying to keep the pressure from going out the exhaust.

I suppose if you wanted to do something like that, simply put both pistons at mid-stroke, which would block all the ports. But it would still have considerable blowby past the piston skirts and rings.
