I have a 1986 85hp force that I brought back to life and in the process I rebuilt the Fuel Pump (it has the original check valves) in the process of changing all three check valves I had to use a drill and a dremmel to get the one valve out.. i nicked the housing but it was below the valve and the valve casing itself covered the nick....the first trip out i couldnt run wot..it would run out of gas... I had another person on my boat pump the primer bulb and it would run wot while they did that....My question is did i ruin the housing and if so where can I find a new one....Thanks

Re: Fuel Pump Question

can you post a picture of the housing and the nick? The pump sounds like it is not pumping enough but there is a few other things it could be besides a bad housing ie. the valves are in wrong, leak in the hose, torn diaphram. The size and location will determine a lot.
