I am getting ready to rebuild the fuel pump and replace the exhaust plate gaskets, they are starting to leak, on my 1996 75hp Force outboard. Is there anything I should watch out for when rebuilding the fuel pump? And should I use a gasket sealer for the exhaust gaskets, and if so, what type should I use? Also what is the torque spec for the exhaust plate bolts? I would hate to break one of those off.

Thanks,
JD

You run in salt??? Your chances of breaking them off while you take them out is GREAT!!!
PB Blaster then tap the head of the screw a bit then spray and tap again do this a bunch. It will loosen the corrosion and maybe the bolts will come out easier.
Me,I'd just leave it and spray with WD or a good silicone.
If you break ONE (usually the bottom ones) you gonna be down for a while!!
