on the bottom of my fuel pump I have a third line, its a short black hose that has been cut and there is a screw in the middle of it, so nothing comes out. I have no sight tube running from my fuel pump to my carberuator. I have fuel in my oil. Is what I'm seeing OK, with the third line... How can I tell if my diaphram has a hole in it causing gas to go in the block ? my carberuator has only clean fuel in it...no oil.

-Rick

My guess is that your diaphram has a hole in it and someone plugged the line that's suppose to go to the carb instead of replacing the fuel pump.

Unplug the sight tube, start the motor and see if any gas comes out. There's not many ways fuel can get inside an engine... the fuel pump or a carb that's flooding profusely.
