Fuel Pump substitution

I have a '94 Johnson 120; the VRO was disconnected by the previous owner. I'm having to replace the fuel pump due to a cracked discharge nipple. I'm wondering if I could use a pump from a non VRO motor (like an "88 Special" as a replacement? Are there other fuel pump options for out boards besides OEM pumps?

You don't want to use the cross-flow fuel pump on that looper. If you're not going to reinstall the oil injection, use the "Premix Conversion" pump p/n 438402, it'll mount up and connect just like the pump you're replacing. It's also about $100 less than a new VRO.

-John
