Fuel Pump Wiring Question

I recently started mixing my own fuel on my VRO system. I have a '95 200 hp Johnson. I plugged the oil line and did all the things I needed to change it over. Well my fuel pump recently quit working and I was able to get a working older VRO pump. However here is my problem: The older pump is a 3 wire and the one I took off the system is a 4 wire. The only difference is a purple wire. I believe this purple wire is required to work some of my guages. I know this from changing my ignition key and the same problem with the purple wire until i used it on one of the connectors to the alarm mechanism. I believe this may have completed the circiut to get the guages to work. Now to my question: Where can I hook up the purple wire at the engine to get my system back to normal.

Re: Fuel Pump Wiring Question

Thanks for the reply. However, I wanted to know what I could hook the purple wire to on the engine that would only be active when the key was in the "on" position, so as to complete the circuit. Currently, I have a purple wire at the fuel pump with no place to plug into and therefore my accessories are not working.
