fuel pump

my 3 liter 1987 mechanical fuel pump is shot.im wnting to go with a electric pump.so what GMP pump do i need.also the boat is a bayliner and the fuel check valve from the tank to the carb is not working.can i just install a brass out let from the fuel pikup connection

I would just rebuild the mech. fuel pump if possible. Do a search on this subject. There are alot of safety issues with using a elec. fuel pump.
