Anyone got an idea of what the fuel pump pressure should be on a 1976 OMC 190hp 302? The manual posted in the Adults only section says 5-7psi in the Ford V8 engine section but in the appendix says 7-9psi (if I can recollect). Model 990232M

Re: Fuel Pump

My OEM manual says Pressure: 5 3/4 to 7 psi @ idle speed. Volume: 1 pint in 30sec or less @ idle speed.

Thanks, I'm right in there... Got one more question... I know the idle should be between 500 and 600... Is that under load or just idling?

Re: Fuel Pump

All I can find is "Adjust idle speed to 550rpm in forward gear." It doesn't mention if it has to be in the water though.

Re: Fuel Pump

I'll just do it under load... Unless the idle in neutral is above 700 due to adjusting it under load... Them shift springs are expensive slinky's... I appreciate all your help Redneck

No problemo! I've got a '75 175hp in my boat. It's been a great setup in my 18.5' Cal-Glass with surprisingly few problems for it's age and pretty easy to work on. I adjusted mine while in the driveway and don't notice much difference to the idle speed when in the water.

Mines right at 560 right now in the drive... I've had a few problems with mine, but like you said, it's easy to work on. Besides, we never have to adjust shift cables :D
